After a long week of work, I decided to treat myself to some good food. Thankfully some of my friends came along. It was a great evening of food, wine, cocktails, cupcakes and laughter. I wanted to try a new restaurant and fortunately Orlando has so many. After looking at a few choices online and reading some reviews, I decided to try Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant.
To say that this place was delicious would be an understatement. The ambiance was nice as well as the service. You walk through the shop of wine and Christmas goodies before reaching the actual restaurant.
Thankfully, we got there a few minutes before happy hour ended, so I got a glass of Moscato for $5 instead of the $7 that the restaurant usually charges. The wine was delicious and sweet. One thing to know about me is that I love wine, but my favorite is Moscato.
Now I am a big fan of the Outback Steakhouse bread, but Cooper’s Hawk bread was on another level. It was soft and oh my. Oh and the butter with the bread. (I think I just fainted.)
The appetizer I chose was the Classic Tomato Bruschetta. It was amazing. The tomatoes were fresh and the balsamic glaze definitely complimented the dish in its entirety. The bread was soft and the crust was nicely toasted.
After finishing my wine and appetizer, I decided to try another drink. I chose the Peartini. It was sweet and just right. I am definitely adding it to my favorite cocktails list. When I revisit this restaurant, I will be ordering it again.
Now for my main dish I opted for the Short Rib Risotto. Now Ya’ll……(dramatic pause)…..this was so good. I mean wow. The rib was tender, the risotto was flavorful, and the white truffle oil was rich. OMG! The dish was filling and it woke up every one of my taste buds. I loved this dish. I also finished the whole thing. Haha! I was a happy woman after this dish.
I would rate this whole experience an A+++. If you ever find yourself in Orlando, please check this place out. You WILL NOT be disappointed. Now this restaurant is a little pricey, so this is not an every day kind of restaurant, but more of a treat.
