Remember to Smile

I know times seem tough. I know you want to give up because nothing seems to go your way, but don’t.

Whether you are at a job that sucks, in a marriage or relationship that seems to have come to a dead end, or you just aren’t sure about anything anymore, keep pushing.

I have been there and I can tell you one thing, depression only leads to more depression. There isn’t an epiphany or miraculous miracle that happens while you’re drowning in your sorrows. You just end up feeling worse about yourself or your situation.

So here are two tips that you can practice everyday. Wake up every morning and thank God that you are alive another day. Even if you don’t believe in what you’re saying, it is repeatedly proven that repetition of good habits can create progress in your life.

Second, smile through the pain. This is not to say that you neglect how you are truly feeling and don’t actively strive to get out of that negative state. Smile through the pain means that despite what you are going through, you are going to keep pushing and working towards feeling better. I know it perhaps sounds stupid, but these two things really work. I did it when I was feeling at my lowest and the crazy improvements I have made in my life are shocking. Every improvement is a gradual change, but when you stick to it, you won’t regret it.
